Tailored Learning for Success
With a focus on the whole child and individual learning styles, the LEAD Program is designed to provide the specific interventions needed for each student to thrive. Our specialists use research-based strategies and best practices along with explicit instruction to support students in a targeted way. This personalized approach addresses learning challenges directly, leading to greater confidence and long-term academic gains. Current LEAD students will have first priority for available sessions.
Professional Team
The LEAD program is staffed with fully credentialed specialists in the subject areas they support. Additionally, the team includes specialists with advanced training in Orton-Gillingham-based systems, which are multisensory, structured language approaches to teaching reading and writing. This approach to Montessori education in Tampa Bay helps students of all ages master these critical skills.
Program Structure and Services
The LEAD Program offers one-on-one sessions and small group support, seamlessly integrated into your child’s school day. Sessions are designed to complement classroom learning, helping students close academic gaps while remaining fully engaged in their regular curriculum. Our team collaborates with teachers to ensure a cohesive learning experience and to provide ongoing progress monitoring for each student.
This specialized program is a key part of what makes Country Day World School so well-rounded. By offering this intensive support on-site, we ensure that students can get the help they need without ever leaving their familiar and supportive school environment. This integrated approach allows for seamless communication between teachers and specialists, creating a powerful network of support for your child's success.
As needed, students may receive assessments ranging from informal observation to in-depth analysis of their strengths/gaps in meeting academic and developmental expectations. The assessments may result in either basic classroom support (Level 1) or recommendations for intensive support (Level 2-3) to strengthen the student’s skill set for success and for lifelong learning. Support will be integrated into the school day through collaboration with the student’s classroom teachers.
The student will be supported in the classroom as determined by the teachers and the Learning Center team.
The student Interventions and support are provided in the general education classroom and in the LEAD center.
The focus of the intensive support session is to provide explicit instruction through a multi-sensory approach in literacy.
Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Behavior Specialists, Educational Psychologists, Reading Specialists and Academic Tutors can be recommended to provide assessment and support.
